Day Highlights
Sunday, November 2

Home City - Beijing

Anticipation fills the air as we board our international flight bound for Beijing, China's historic capital city. Spend the night on board as we cross the International Date Line.
Monday, November 3: Arrive Beijing Our flight crosses the International Date Line and lands in Beijing in the evening. After touching down, we are met and transferred to our luxuriously appointed, five-star hotel accommodations.  After our group orientation and traditional Chinese foot massage, you’ll have the opportunity to have some dinner before heading off to catch up on your sleep.
Tuesday, November 4: Beijing

Welcome to Beijing, one of the world’s most historic capital cities. Today we will show you both the ancient past along with modern Beijing.  A symbol of national pride, Tiananmen Square, or “Gate of Heavenly Peace”, is located in the heart of Beijing.  We pass through this, the world’s largest public square, and continue on to the Forbidden City, where, for over 500 years, commoners were forbidden to enter. We will drive past some of the venues from the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing that the Chinese are so proud of.  Our final stop is a visit the regal Summer Palace, the summer home of the emperor and his royal court. We end our busy day by attending an exciting Chinese Acrobatics Show. (B, L, D)

Wednesday, November 5: Beijing Built over 2,000 years ago, the Great Wall embodies the magnificence and resilience of Chinese culture. Spanning thousands of miles across five provinces and two autonomous regions, the Great Wall can even be seen from the moon. We descend the Great Wall to visit the Ming Tomb Museum, home to many ancient relics of porcelain, jade carvings, silk, jewels and other precious items. In the evening, we savor a traditionally prepared Peking Duck Feast. (B, L, D)
Thursday, November 6: Beijing  This morning, join us as we travel by rickshaw to the “Hutongs” of Old Town Beijing.  Going through the old narrow alleys and passages of Beijing , we will end up at our “hosts” home, where we can enjoy tea and conversation with the locals.  The rest of the day is free for us to explore the city of Beijing on our own.  (B)
Friday, November 7: Beijing - Xian  Today we finish up our Beijing tour by visiting The Temple of Heaven.  Widely regarded as the noblest example of religious architecture in all China , it was the site where emperors came to pray for a bountiful harvest. We fly to Xian in the afternoon, China ’s ancient capital and the much-celebrated starting point of the famed Silk Road . We drive by the massive City Wall and visit the ancient Bell Tower on the way to town.  Enjoy a Shabbat Service at our hotel in Xian. (B, L, D)
Saturday, November 8: Xian The highlight of our sightseeing today is the world-famous, life-sized Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the greatest archeological discoveries, unearthed in 1974 by a local farmer, 2,200 years after being buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Afterwards, we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight after partaking in a local specialty, the Imperial Dumpling Banquet, we’ll enjoy a captivating Tang Dynasty Stage Opera. (B, L, D)
Sunday, November 9: Xian - Shanghai

After breakfast, we are transferred to the airport to board our flight to Shanghai . Upon arrival, we tour China ’s largest and most vibrant city.  It’s modern history dates back to the early 1900’s and is a modern mix of East and West.  Experience the modern sophistication and historical charm of Shanghai as we visit Yu Garden, Nanjing Road and the famous waterfront “Bund”.    (B,L, D)

Monday, November 10: Shanghai Today we will have the opportunity to explore our Jewish Chinese past.  From palaces and luxurious hotels, going deep into the Ghetto Allies, enhance your trip to China by taking our Jewish Tour of Shanghai, illustrating the remarkable history of Jews in Shanghai . For one hundred years, from 1850 to 1950, many Jews made an important cultural impact on the economic and development of Shanghai while others found a safe heaven escaping Nazi persecution.  Hear this incredible story and see where it all took place. Because this tour is very limited in size due to the places we will be visiting, we will split into a morning and an afternoon tour lasting approximately four hours.  The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
Tuesday, November 11: Shanghai A full day is free for leisure activities. Spend it resting, shopping or sightseeing. For those who wish, an optional tour to the “Garden City” of Suzhou is available. This evening we will get together for our group farewell dinner followed by an amazing Chinese Acrobatic performance. (B, D)
Wednesday, November 12: Shanghai - Home  This morning is free until we board our home-bound international flight and bid a fond farewell to China, or continue with us on our Post-Package to Hong Kong. (B)
