Day 2 – Friday, April 20 – Madrid, Spain
Welcome to Madrid, Spain’s capital and largest city. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Orientation and Ice Breaker followed by a Shabbat Service and dinner with your fellow travelers. Today dinner will be included.
Day 3 – Saturday, April 21 – Madrid
We begin our day with a locally guided tour of Madrid’s historic center. We’ll see the Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, where events have been held since the 17th century. This afternoon, enjoy some leisure time to walk around town, see the famous Prado Museum or go shopping. Tonight, we’ll have free time to enjoy Madrid after dark. Today breakfast will be included.
Day 4 – Sunday, April 22 – Madrid – Toledo – Madrid
This morning we travel to Toledo, a UNESCO site and the capital of medieval Spain until 1560. A comprehensive tour highlights the magnificent Gothic cathedral, the Tagus River and the 13th century synagogue, a testament to Toledo’s Jewish heritage. Visit the city’s market as well as the Jewish Quarter which includes the Samuel Halevi Abulufia Synagogue. Also stop in the Sephardic Museum and the Santa Maria La Blanca Church. After time for lunch, we’ll visit the Church of Santo Tome to view El Greco’s masterpiece painting, The Burial of Count Orgaz. Enjoy some time at leisure to wander through Toledo’s narrow, cobble-stoned streets before returning to Madrid. Tonight we discover the exciting nightlife of Madrid. Today breakfast will be included.
Day 5 – Monday, April 23 – Madrid – Cordoba – Seville
This morning we take the AVE high speed train to the extraordinary Moorish city of Cordoba. Embark on a walking tour of the Mezquita. This UNESCO site, an architectural marvel, built by the Moors in the 8th century as a magnificent mosque, was converted into the city’s cathedral in the 16th century. We continue our exploration of Cordoba in the city’s well-preserved and historical old Jewish Quarter. See the Statue of Maimonides and Plaza Tiberias before transferring to Seville, considered Spain’s “cultural capital.” Today breakfast and dinner will be included.
Day 6 – Tuesday, April 24 – Seville
Today we will see Columbus’ tomb, the ornate cathedral, a UNESCO site, and Giralda Bell Tower. Enjoy a walking tour of the quaint old Santa Cruz Quarter with its bright flowers, white-washed buildings and winding streets. We end our tour with a visit to Alcazar Palace. Next, enjoy a tapas lunch before you take your reserved seats for an authentic flamenco show featuring Seville’s top performers. Tonight is yours to go out exploring as Seville celebrates the festival of Feria. Lots of excitement and fun will be happening throughout the area as locals come out to party in the streets. Today breakfast and lunch will be included.
Day 7 – Wednesday, April 25 – Seville – Costa del Sol
Today we travel to Terremolinos on Spain’s Costa del Sol. Upon arrival, enjoy a comprehensive city tour that includes the Alcazaba at Gibralasro. This afternoon is free to relax at the beach and this evening you can explore all that the Costa del Sol has to offer. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.
Day 8 – Thursday, April 26 – Costa del Sol – Granada – Costa del Sol
Travel along the peaceful Sierra Nevada to Granada, the last great capital of the Moors in Spain before it fell to the Catholic monarchs in 1492. Join a local expert for a tour of the world-famous Alhambra, the immense hilltop palace that is a UNESCO site. Tour the Generalife, meaning “garden of the architect,” where the grounds are beautifully designed with waterfalls, courtyards and smaller secret gardens. We’ll also visit the Realejo, the former Jewish Quarter and the site of the original name of the city Garnata al-Yehud. Next, enjoy time to wander around the Albayzin, the old Moorish neighborhood and a UNESCO site. We return to our hotel on the Costa del Sol this evening. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.
Day 9 – Friday, April 27 – Costa del Sol – Barcelona
We fly this morning to Barcelona, one of the most vibrant and lively cities in Spain! Our locally guided tour showcases Las Ramblas Boulevard, the most famous in Barcelona; dotted with bird and flower stalls. See the Columbus Monument; Parc Montjuic; and spend time in Barcelona’s Art Museum. Tonight, enjoy a group Shabbat gathering before going out to explore Barcelona after dark. Today breakfast will be included.
Day 10 – Saturday, April 28 – Barcelona
Today we enjoy a day full of sightseeing! Visit Antonio Gaudi’s UNESCO World Heritage sites including “La Sagrada Familia,” Parc Guell, Bartlo House and the unconventional Casa Mila building. This afternoon continue to explore colorful Barcelona on your own. Gather this evening for a farewell event followed by dinner, celebrating the end of an amazing trip to Spain! Today breakfast and dinner will be included.
Day 11 – Sunday, April 29 – Barcelona – Tour Ends
You return home with vivid memories of a spectacularly beautiful land with an old, rich and diverse cultural heritage. Today breakfast will be included.

Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until January 10, 2012, there is a $75.00 penalty for cancellation. From January 11 – February 1, 2012, the cancellation penalty is $450.00. From February 2 – March 17, 2012, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the total package price. From March 18, 2012 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.
Cancellation insurance: Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Information will be sent with your tour confirmation.
Pricing: Taxes are subject to increases as local governments require. Amazing Journeys reserves the right to change tour pricing accordingly. All taxes and gratuities have been included in the cost of the tour package. These include baggage handling (one bag per person), local guides, drivers and meal servers for included features.
Passport and Visa Requirements: A valid passport is required. Passports must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip.
