Saturday, February 27 – Arrival into Iguaçu Falls – Tour Begins
Welcome to Brazil! Upon your arrival, settle into our beautiful hotel, located just steps from Iguaçu National Park. This evening, we’ll enjoy an Amazing Journeys Welcome Event with your fellow travelers, followed by a dinner welcoming you to Brazil.

Sunday, February 28 – Iguaçu Falls
Today we will explore the wonder of Iguazu Falls from the Argentine side. Crossing the Iguazu River through the famous Tancredo Neves bridge, we will find ourselves in the Argentine National Park. Take a train ride and follow a network of walkways that wind through lush subtropical rainforest, bringing you face-to-face with countless cascades tumbling over cliffs in a symphony of sound and mist. This imposing natural sculpture is comprised of about 280 falls with an average height of 200 feet.
Feel the spray on your skin as you stand at the edge of the legendary Devil’s Throat, where roaring torrents plunge dramatically into the depths below. Our adventure will take us to the Upper Circuit of the Park and (if time permits) also through the Lower Circuit. The trails will take us through lush forests, and we will be accompanied at all times by the powerful roar of Iguazu’s waters. A true feast for our senses!
The remainder of the day is at leisure where you can take a dip in the pool at our hotel and enjoy your surroundings.

Monday, March 1 – Iguaçu Falls – Rio de Janeiro
This morning we will have a different perspective as we head out on foot to discover the wonder of Iguaçu Falls from the Brazilian side! Today, the experience is all about sweeping panoramas and jaw-dropping scale. You’ll be treated to postcard-perfect views of the entire waterfall system, where hundreds of cascades stretch across the horizon in a dramatic display of power and beauty. Our adventure will bring us face to face with one of the most impressive natural wonders in the world; one that will change our perspective on the power of nature. Walking through the National Park, we will immerse ourselves in the lush vegetation that populates the impressive local ecosystem. Take in the views at Mirador de las Cataratas for a first impressive view of the park and the waterfalls, accompanied by the deafening roar of the water surrounding us. We will continue along the carefully designed paths to get closer to the action feeling the breeze and mist in the air as we walk over the turbulent waters. We will be able to see the famous Devil’s Throat. From the Brazilian side, we will experience the majesty of its panoramic views!
This afternoon, we will bid tchau tchau to the beautiful Iguaçu Falls and fly to the vibrant and iconic city of Rio de Janeiro.

Tuesday, March 2 – Rio de Janeiro
Enjoy a full day discovering the very best of Rio de Janeiro and its most iconic sights. We’ll begin our journey at the base of Corcovado, where a short and scenic train ride carries you to the summit, passing through stretches of the lush Tijuca Forest, the largest urban rainforest in the world. At the top, you’ll be greeted by the outstretched arms of Christ the Redeemer, Brazil’s most emblematic monument and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, along with unrivaled panoramic views of the city below.
Savor delicious asado for lunch at a traditional Brazilian steakhouse. Then, continue your adventure aboard the city’s oldest cable car as you ascend Sugarloaf Mountain (1300 feet). From its summit, take in breathtaking, wide-angle views of Rio’s coastline, bays, and vibrant cityscape. This is an iconic peak at this special city, and an unforgettable finale to a spectacular day in Rio.

Wednesday, March 3 – Rio de Janeiro
Experience the creation of Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival from an insider’s perspective. Visit the City of Samba, learn about the history of samba and Carnival parades, and understand the production of floats and costumes. Get those dancing-feet ready because you’ll don an authentic Carnival costume and learn some samba dancing from experienced Carnival dancers!
Then, take a tour through Little Africa, a place full of history, that connects with samba on a deeper level. We’ll end our tour at a samba circle at Pedra do Sal.
The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to explore Rio – perhaps you’ll soak in the sun on Copacabana Beach, located right outside of our hotel, or walk along Ipanema Beach, do some shopping at boutiques, enjoy the cafés and surrounding galleries. Go for a swim at our hotel’s beautiful rooftop pool with a caipirinha in hand as you watch the sun go down on Copacabana Beach. This evening, enjoy a true Brazilian group dinner.

Thursday, March 4 – Rio de Janeiro – Manaus
This morning, we’ll take in the stunning views of Rio from a totally different angle – from aboard a boat in the Guanabara Bay – where we’ll be able to see sites from a new perspective. We’ll see Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Museum of Tomorrow, (Museu do Amanhã), built by the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. As we cross under the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, we will see the Santa Teresa neighborhood, the three forts that were built to protect the city, and other iconic sites that make this city so special.
Enjoy some free time this afternoon to take in all that Rio has to offer, then this evening we’ll continue our adventure as we fly to Manaus, our entry point of the Amazon Rainforest.

Friday, March 5 – Manaus – Amazon River Cruise
Enjoy the morning at leisure at our 5-star boutique hotel before we head toward our home-away-from-home for the next three nights, our river cruise on the Amazon River.
After embarkation and a safety briefing, we’ll get this adventure started as we cruise down the Rio Solimões and watch the sunset on deck while enjoying live local music with a cocktail in hand. Onboard, join with our Amazing Journeys friends for our community Shabbat and dinner, and spend the evening enjoying Amazonian music onboard.

Saturday, March 6 – Amazon River Cruise
This morning, take a boat ride to visit the riverside home of the Silva family, located in the Lago Janauacá region. Learn about their way of life, customs, and crops. There will also be an opportunity to visit the Juruá beekeeping project, where you can observe stingless bee honey production. You will also have the chance to purchase local honey and regional products.
Back onboard, taste and savor local fruits that are specific to this region. Perhaps you’ll take a tour of the Command Bridge onboard to learn about the navigation on our ship.
This afternoon, have the opportunity to go Piranha fishing and/or take a boat ride in the Manacapuru region to observe the flora and fauna. Enjoy some evening entertainment onboard, and after dinner you can discover the mysteries of the tropical forest after sunset in the Manacapuru region.

Sunday, March 7 – Amazon River Cruise
Rise and shine because today we have a sunrise expedition to observe birds and enjoy the beautiful landscape illuminated by the sunrise during a boat ride. After breakfast, you can enjoy a boat ride or forest walk in the Manacapuru region. Onboard, enjoy a lecture on the Peoples and Culture of the Amazon to fully understand the intricacies of region you’re traveling through.
This afternoon, take a relaxing boat ride to visit Vitória-Régia Lake with the opportunity to meet a local artisan and take a short walk in the Lago Janauari region.
Tonight is the Captain’s Dinner followed by a Folklore Show, featuring music with rhythms from all over Brazil.

Monday, March 8 – Amazon River Cruise – Tour Ends
Early this morning we’ll see an exciting highlight of the region as we sail through the Meeting of the Waters between the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões. Then, we will disembark the ship and head back home with memories of our amazing journey through the incredible country of Brazil.

Pre-Tour Stay: For those who want to arrive prior to the start of the tour, we have a limited number of rooms held at our group hotel. Please note – there will be no Amazing Journeys staff present, nor will there be programming on these days. A deposit of $50 is required for each pre-night reserved. Rates listed are per day and include taxes and breakfast daily.

These rates are based on an all-inclusive, custom-designed package that differs from offerings seen in public advertising. We are unable to make any of our package components available to anyone who is not part of our Amazing Journeys group.

Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until July 7, 2026, there is a $250 penalty for cancellation. From July 8 – August 10, 2026, the cancellation penalty is the amount of the deposit for the tour package, and pre-night stays. From August 11 – November 10, 2026, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the tour package and pre-night stays. From November 11 – December 10, 2026, the cancellation penalty is 75% of the cost of the tour package and pre-night stays. From December 11, 2026 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the cost of the tour package and pre-night stays. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey. Your decision not to participate on the tour due to State Department advisories, fear of travel, illness or any other reason will be deemed a cancellation.
Travel Protection: Travel protection is required for participation in this program. Information will be sent with tour confirmation.
Passport & Visa Requirements: A passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary. It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. If the name on your passport differs from the name on your registration form, a name change fee may be incurred. A visa is required to visit Brazil for those with US, Canadian or Australian passports. For UK citizens, no visas are necessary at this time. At this moment, it is also not required to have a visa for Argentina (for our day in Iguazu Falls) for citizens of the US, Canada, UK or Australia. If you are from a country other than those mentioned, please check with the Embassy of Brazil and the Embassy of Argentina to find out if any visas are necessary. Please note that visa information is subject to change at any time and it is up to the individual traveling to stay current on visa requirements.
This trip is for you if: This trip is for you if you’re an on-the-go traveler – you don’t want to miss a thing, walking and standing for 2-3 hours isn’t a big deal and you’re able to walk at a moderate pace, covering several miles, hills and uneven surfaces. Walking four miles throughout the day is very doable and you can easily climb stairs. You can navigate hills, uneven/wet ground and walking through the forest and over roots independently, climb up and into various modes of transportation including various-sized boats. You can expect several early mornings and some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. When traveling in Brazil you will encounter hot, humid weather. In the Amazon Rainforest, we are likely to encounter rain. You must be in good health and prepare properly. This trip is not a fit for those who require assistance with walking or who travel on mobility devices. As this is a group tour, individual accommodations cannot be made for those who are not able to keep up with the group. If you have questions or concerns, please be in contact with Amazing Journeys before registering for the trip.
Dietary Restrictions: For our group meals on this itinerary, we are able to accommodate the following diets: celiac/gluten free, vegetarian, pescatarian (fish, but no shellfish), dairy free. We cannot accommodate special request such as salt-free meals, low-oil meals, low-carb meals, etc. and cannot guarantee accommodations for severe allergies. Group meals are pre-arranged menus – sometimes there will be menu choices and other times it will be a set menu. Dietary requirements must be communicated with us in advance as last-minute changes may not be possible. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us before registering for this trip.
Twin Accommodations: Twin accommodations are available if you and a friend are traveling together. When signing up for twin occupancy, should one of the roommates cancel, the remaining traveling roommate will assume the cost of a single supplement. Standard cancellation terms apply to any cancellation.
Vaccines & Precautions: There may be specific vaccinations recommended for this itinerary. We recommend visiting a travel clinic or seeing your health professional to be sure you are up to date on vaccinations needed for international travel. Requirements can change at any time. Please note that our Amazing Journeys staff are not medical professionals and therefore are unable to give specific information on vaccinations or medications you may need for this or any other tour.
Port Taxes, Government Fees & Gratuities: Port taxes, government fees and gratuities have all been included in the rate. Taxes, surcharges, and government fees are subject to change. Gratuities have been included on this tour and include tips for the local guides, shipboard crew, excursions, drivers, luggage porters and included meals. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff in the hotels and tipping is at your discretion.
Flights: It is important that you not purchase airfare until you receive a Confirmation Letter from Amazing Journeys, which will contain specific flight parameters. For this itinerary, flight parameters are as follows:
Arrive into Iguaçu Falls on February 27 – Arrive in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil (airport code IGU) at any time on February 27. Our program will begin that evening. Please note – there are three different airports that service this area, located in three different countries. Flying into the wrong airport will place you in a different country.
Depart from Manaus on March 8 – Our ship docks in Manaus at 8:00am today. Your flight can depart from Manaus, Brazil (airport code MAO) any time after 11:30am today.
Transfers: Arrival transfers are included between Iguaçu Falls airport (IGU) and our group hotel on February 26 (if early night hotel stay is booked by Amazing Journeys) and February 27. A departure transfer is included between our ship and the Manaus airport (MAO) on March 8. A surcharge may be added for those arriving or departing outside of typical arrival and departure hours, and will not be offered at all if you are arriving into or departing from an airport other than those listed above.
Baggage: Regardless of what your international air carrier permits, each traveler will be limited to one checked suitcase and one carry-on bag. Your carry-on bag must fit up on the bus (not a roller-board) and cannot go under the bus. We recommend using a backpack, tote bag or purse. If your luggage exceeds these limitations, our tour operator charges $12 per additional bag for each hotel and that cost will be passed along to you.
Credit Card Payments: Rates listed are for final payments made by check. After the initial deposit, all payments made by credit card will have a 3% credit card fee.
Fuel Surcharge: Should oil costs go above $65 per barrel and the suppliers add fees, Amazing Journeys reserves the right to add them to the cost of the package.
Exchange Rate: In the case of currency fluctuations greater than 3%, we reserve the right to adjust our pricing accordingly in order that we may be able to operate the tours effectively.
This tour must have a minimum of 18 travelers to operate. We will have a maximum of 24 travelers.
