Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until October 10, 2019, there is a $100 penalty for cancellation. From October 11 – December 17, 2019, the cancellation penalty is $650. From December 18, 2019 – January 21, 2020, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the tour price and 100% of the airline ticket which is non-refundable. From January 22, 2020 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price, including airfare. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.

Flights and Transfers: International or domestic airfare is not included in the tour rate – you will be asked to select either the International Flight Package or the Intra-Africa Flight Package. Transfers are included for those arriving and departing on the trip dates. If you are not selecting our International Flight Package, it is important that you not purchase your international flights until you receive a confirmation letter which will contain flight parameters. Flights will be purchased at the time of final payment.
Taxes and Gratuities: All taxes, service charges and government fees have been included in the cost of the tour package and airline tickets. Gratuities have been included on this itinerary for included features. They include tips for drivers and guides, safari guides, tour manager, servers for included meals, and baggage handling in and out of each hotel. Taxes, service charges and government fees are subject to change. There is a departure tax from Botswana which is currently $30 USD.
Passport and Visa: A valid passport is required for travel to Africa. It must have at least 6 months validity beyond the last date of travel. A visa is not required for entrance into South Africa for US Citizens. A visa is required for Zimbabwe. The cost is approximately $45 for US citizens and $150 for Canadian Citizens paid in US dollars upon arrival. A visa not is needed for Botswana for US citizens. Visas are available upon arrival into each country. More details will be provided closer to the travel date. Please note that visa requirements may change at any time. All passengers must have a minimum of 4 blank VISA pages in their passport to enable an entry stamp to be issued. Two pages for South Africa must be facing each other. Page must state the word “visa” and not “endorsement” at the top of the page. Photos are not necessary. If you are a citizen from a country outside of the US or Canada, please check with the embassies of the countries on this itinerary for passport and visa requirements.
Transportation on Safari: While on safari, you will travel in large 4 x 4 safari jeeps. Jeeps hold 6-10 passengers.

February 22 – Fly Hometown to Cape Town
Leave your home town today and head to South Africa. Whether on our group flight or on your own, you’ll fly overnight to reach Cape Town. Epic scenery, winding coastlines, remarkable cultural diversity and abundant wildlife await you in an incredible experience. From urban centers to wild safaris, Southern Africa takes you by surprise, delighting you again and again until its unique spirit claims you, your heart and soul.
February 23 – Cape Town, South Africa – Tour Begins
Immerse yourself in the pulse of this electric cultural mecca called Cape Town. Discover a melting pot of Dutch, French, and German architecture that embolden the horizon. Choose to explore Alfred & Victoria Waterfront, a Cape Town hotspot and one of South Africa’s most compelling destinations, from heritage sites to historic landmarks, markets, shops, and restaurants. Tonight, gather for an Amazing Journeys Welcome Orientation followed by a group dinner. (D)
February 24 – Cape Town
Step aboard a cable car that whisks us to an altitude of more than 3,000 feet atop Table Mountain as we gently rise over the South African landscape. Gaze at the astounding views of Cape Town, historic Robben Island and Lion’s Head. Next, step into a kingdom of natural wonders, where thousands of plant and floral species thrive at Kirstenbosch Gardens. You’ll love the cacophony of colors! We return to the city via Table Bay. We’ll pass through the Moorish Malay Quarter and pause at Milnerton Lighthouse. This evening, savor a true African dining experience sampling local delicacies. You will delight in unique traditional African performances and learn how to play the African drum! (B, D)
February 25 – Cape Town
Today we’ll travel out to Cape Point on the southwestern tip of Africa. Along the way, marvel at the coastal scenery and pleasant towns that populate the Cape Peninsula. Listen to the tales behind the numerous ship wrecks which attest to the treacherous nature of these waters. Come to know the Cape of Good Hope and take a tram to the top of the mountain. We’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely hike down before continuing on to Boulders Beach to see the penguins who call it home. This evening, enjoy a free night to explore the Waterfront and have a dinner of your choosing. (B)
February 26 – Cape Town – Stellenbosch
This morning, we’ll visit the South African Jewish Museum set on a campus that includes South Africa’s first, oldest and surely grandest synagogue. The South African Jewish Museum is a marvel of modern architecture, and one whose contents mirror this fusion of the old world and the new. This campus includes the synagogue, a museum, Holocaust Center and gift shop. After a brief overview, you will have some free time there to explore on your own. After, a short drive takes us to the idyllic town of Stellenbosch – a zenith of South Africa’s famous winelands. Enjoy viewing the rolling vineyards where historic Cape Dutch architecture dots the landscape. Upon arrival, we’ll partake in a wine tasting with an amazing lunch at the Blaauwklippen Vineyards. You’ll have the rest of the day to spend at leisure in this lovely university town, the second oldest in South Africa. (B, L)
February 27 – Stellenbosch – Hermanus – Stellenbosch
Today, it’s your choice. Seaside Hermanus waits for you on the other side of an easy drive over the St. Lowry Pass. Learn more about this quaint maritime village known to be frequented by whales. Take in the town and enjoy its many shops and art galleries -OR- simply relax in Stellenbosch and take advantage of this charming town for one more day, including fabulous restaurants, boutiques and our hotel’s spa amenities. (B)
February 28 – Stellenbosch – Johannesburg
Take to the skies on a flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, we’ll have a guided tour of Soweto – South West Township – showcasing luxurious mansions and informal settlements as we learn about the historical significance of this area. Shabbat Shalom! This evening, we’ll have an Amazing Journeys Shabbat service, followed by Shabbat dinner together. (B, D)
February 29 – Johannesburg – Panoramic Route – Kruger National Park
This morning we head out to Kruger National Park, the largest game reserve in South Africa. We’ll travel through the spectacular Northern Drakensberg Mountain Range enroute. Scenic wonders surround us as we pass through the Blyde River Canyon, made mostly of red sandstone and known as one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders. Set against the triple mountain formation of the Three Rondavels, resembling traditional round houses of the indigenous people, the canyon is the third largest in the world. Along this magnificent route we’ll also see Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the dramatic natural cylinders shaped by millions of years of natural erosion caused by fast-flowing sand-filled waters. Upon arrival this evening, we’ll enjoy a traditional Boma dinner under the stars where you may sample some local game meat! (B, D)
March 1 – Kruger National Park – Safari Game Drive
Have your cameras ready for an unforgettable day of adventure and excitement! Enjoy a full-day open-air-vehicle safari game drive. Our local experts leads us in search of the Big 5 – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino – and provides insight into these fascinating animals along the way. Watch carefully – we may also see a graceful impala, dazzling zebra or gorgeous giraffe. Relax with a picnic lunch, surrounded by giraffe in the natural beauty of Kruger National Park. This evening we’ll enjoy a group dinner together at our lodge in Kruger National Park where we can recount the beauty of the day. (B, L, D)
March 2 – Kruger National Park – Safari Game Drive
Today we have more opportunities to spot wildlife as we enjoy another day on safari with local experts. Watch for animals of all types as we traverse the landscape of Kruger National Park. (B, L, D)
March 3 – Kruger National Park – Johannesburg
We’ll head back to Johannesburg today. This afternoon, we’ll visit the Apartheid Museum which commemorates the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa. This evening enjoy a free night to experience a dinner of your choosing at the Legacy Corner Mall on Nelson Mandela Square, attached to our hotel, where the finest luxurious shops in Sandton await you. March 4 – Johannesburg – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Fly to Victoria Falls today – an awe-inspiring wonder of the world. Victoria Falls Hotel is a grand 111 year old 5-star hotel that boasts epic views of the Victoria Falls Bridge and the magnificent Victoria Falls themselves. This afternoon, when rainbows are at their best, embark on a walking tour of stunning Victoria Falls and witness the awesome power of the highest waterfalls in the world. We’ll ignite your senses tonight with the tastes, sights, sounds, and smells of the Boma, a feast of fun under the stars featuring a cultural milieu of traditional dancers and drummers that celebrate the warmth of the Zimbabwean culture. Indulge in a superb selection of local delicacies, barbeque, and a variety of game meat for the more adventurous. (B, D)
March 5 – Victoria Falls
Embark on a captivating tour of a local village with our friend, a most passionate village elder. From a casual chat inside an open-roofed lapa that’s welcomed dignitaries and local leaders to the surrounding fields, bush, and round houses with perfectly swept yards, discover a palpable energy in a place where African traditions are expressed with pride. Later, get ready for the experience of a lifetime. Greet African elephants, spend some quality time interacting with them in their own habitat, and learn some of their unique behaviors. This evening is a free night and there are several options you may wish to explore in the area. Relax, reflect and spend some time watching elephants at the watering hole at a nearby lodge, enjoy high tea at our hotel or treat yourself to a spa treatment. (B)
March 6 – Victoria Falls – Chobe, Botswana
Before crossing the border to Botswana and Chobe National Park, engage in a lively discourse about the African explorer and missionary, David Livingstone. Arrive in Chobe – game-viewing country. During a breathtaking safari cruise along the Chobe River, spot elephants and hippos that linger and swim along the shores, and crocodiles basking in the sun. This evening we’ll join together at our lodge with our Amazing Journeys community for a Shabbat service, followed by Shabbat dinner, Botswana style! (B, L, D)
March 7 – Chobe National Park
Bordered by the Chobe River, Chobe National Park’s perennial waters rise in the northern Angolan highlands. We’ll venture into the park for an unforgettable wildlife excursion through the park’s diverse ecosystems featuring remarkable biodiversity. After lunch, it’s your choice! Continue the wildlife search by land on an afternoon game drive -OR- hit the river for a different perspective on a relaxing safari cruise. Tonight, we’ll gather by the river for our Amazing Journeys Farewell Event, including an unforgettable, chef-hosted farewell dinner. On our last night, learn the secret to cooking a traditional braai, complete with some local favorites and delicacies. (B, L, D)
March 8 – Chobe – Johannesburg – Tour Ends
We’ll fly as a group to Johannesburg today, and this is where our tour comes to a close. From here, you’ll board your international flight to your home city returning to civilization and the amazing memories of a lifetime! (B)
