Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until June 29, 2019, there is a $350 penalty for cancellation. From June 30, 2019 – January 2, 2020, the cancellation penalty is the amount of the deposit. From January 3 – March 2, 2020 the cancellation penalty is 50% of the total package price including pre-nights in Dubrovnik. From March 3, 2020 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.
Travel Protection: Amazing Journeys recommends you purchase Travel Protection. Information will be sent with your trip confirmation.
Flights and Transfers: International airfare is not included in the tour rate. Transfer options for purchase will be offered as we get closer to the travel date. For your international flights, it is important that you not purchase airfare until you receive a confirmation letter from Amazing Journeys which will contain specific flight parameters. You will arrive into Dubrovnik (DBV) and depart from Zagreb Airport (ZAG).
Taxes and Gratuities: Taxes, surcharges, and government fees are subject to change. Gratuities have been included on this tour and include tips for the tour manager, cruise staff, drivers, specialty guides, luggage porters and included meals. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff in the hotels and tipping is at your discretion.
Passport and Visa: A passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary. It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. A visa is not required for citizens of the US, Canada, UK, Australia or EU countries. Please note that visa requirements can change at any time and it is up to the traveler to be aware of visa requirements.

Thursday, May 7 – Arrive in Dubrovnik, Croatia – Tour Begins
Welcome to Dubrovnik! This is the perfect place to begin your tour of Croatia and the Dalmatian Islands. Dubrovnik, “the Pearl of the Adriatic,” is known for its distinctive medieval Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls from the 16th century, with the Adriatic Sea just beyond. Its well-preserved buildings range from baroque churchs to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector’s Palace, now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the pedestrian Placa is lined with shops and restaurants. Today you’ll have some free time to relax at our gorgeous hotel with its beautiful pool, spa and sea views. Or, wander through the town. This evening meet your fellow travelers at our Amazing Journeys Welcome Orientation. Tonight, enjoy a free night with others from the group to enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many local cafes and restaurants in Old Town Dubrovnik or at our hotel with views overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Friday, May 8 – Dubrovnik
This morning we’ll set out for a half day Jewish heritage tour where we’ll learn about the history of the Jewish community here on our 3-hour walking tour. You’ll visit landmarks like the Jewish fountain, the remains of the old Jewish ghetto and the Old Synagogue. This synagogue is the oldest Sephardic synagogue still in use today in the world and the the second oldest synagogue in all of Europe, said to have been established in 1352. Finally, learn more about Jewish life from the 16th century through the persecution of WWII to modern day. After, you’ll have free time on your own to have lunch in town, meander the city streets of Old Town or come back to the hotel to enjoy the amazing views poolside. This evening you’re in for a special treat as we have arranged an amazing evening just for you as we celebrate Amazing Journeys 20th Anniversary year! (B, D)
Saturday, May 9 – Dubrovnik – Board Ship
Today, a unique experience awaits us! We’ll walk along the top of the medieval stone walls, an iconic winding fortress that serves as the backdrop for endless filming locations. Feel the ancient stone beneath your feet and marvel at the sparkling Adriatic Sea in the distance. With the city laid out before you, follow the twisting cobblestone streets that cut through the red rooftops. This afternoon, our adventure continues when you board our private Amazing Journeys ship! Relax onboard the 4-star MS San Spirito before experiencing a Captain’s welcome dinner. Enjoy your meal accompanied by live Klapa music, the traditional Croatian style of singing. This 7-night cruise along the Adriatic coast allows you to revel in all of the luxuries of a small cruise ship (B, D)
Sunday, May 10 – Dubrovnik – Slano
This morning, take in the medieval stone walls, iconic Baroque rooftops, and winding cobblestone streets of Dubrovnik. Embrace the unspeakable feeling that you’ve stepped into another time as you explore the Old City with a local guide. With free time in the afternoon, perhaps you’ll ride a cable car to the top of the Mount Srd for awe-inspiring views of Dubrovnik. Then, our journey continues to Slano, a port city just outside of Dubrovnik. Enjoy an evening of leisure or consider an optional excursion to Ston, a nearby fortified city known for its decadent oysters and seafood. (B, L)
Monday, May 11 – Slano – Mljet National Park – Korcula
We will start our day in Mljet National Park. Stroll around the Large and Small lakes before exploring the Islet of St. Mary, home to a Benedictine Monastery from the 12th century. Don’t miss out on a chance to take a swim in the strikingly blue waters. Then, it’s on to Korcula, debated home to one of the world’s most famous explorers: Marco Polo. Decide for yourself if he was born in Korcula or Venice as you tour his alleged home and take in the fantastic sea views from its tower. Join a local guide and make your way along the narrow stone streets while you wander among the medieval buildings and vibrant houses in the town known as “Little Dubrovnik.” Enjoy the evening at leisure to discover the charms of this age-old city. Tuesday, May 12 – Korcula – Vis
Cruise on to Vis, a small island practically untouched by tourism and overflowing with Renaissance architecture and beautiful beaches. Today we have something really special planned for you where you’ll experience a memorable day in Vis. We begin by traversing the old road above the town and head toward enchanting Vis. This coastal gem was featured as the main filming location for the free-spirited and fun-loving movie, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Claiming to maintain one of the oldest fishing traditions in the Adriatic Sea, embrace the historical yet lighthearted vibes of the island and tour the city with a local guide. Take in the charming vineyards and olive groves before sampling the fruits of the area at a local farmhouse. Delve into the culture of the island at a traditional farm-to-table dinner and wine tasting. We’ll return to our ship after dinner. (B, L, D)
Wednesday, May 13 – Vis – Bisevo – Hvar
Embark on a morning cruise to the island of Biševo. This island is home to the Blue Cave, a stunning grotto with a luminous blue glow. Return to the ship and cruise to the sunny island of Hvar. Upon arrival in Hvar, get acquainted with the area when a local guide introduces you to the history, culture, and lifestyle of the city. Discover how lavender was traditionally grown in the region for centuries and take a closer look at the custom. (B, L)
Thursday, May 14 – Hvar – Bol – Trogir
Start your day in the town of Bol, located on the picturesque island of Brac. With free time this morning, perhaps you’ll choose to swim along the shore of the “Golden Cape,” known to be one of the most popular beaches in Croatia. Return to the ship for lunch, then it’s off to Trogir, a coastal gem renowned for its picturesque Venetian architecture. Admire the striking stone houses and towering cathedral as you tour the city with a guide. (B, L)
Friday, May 15 – Trogir – Split
Discover Split, one of the oldest cities in this historic region. In this bustling port, explore Diocletian’s Palace, the city’s famous ancient fortress. One of Croatia’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, Emperor Diocletian chose the palace to be his retirement home because of the incomparable beauty of Split. A guided tour takes you through the mysterious passageways and into the lower levels of this massive structure. This evening, we’ll celebrate Shabbat, Croatian style! Tonight you will have a free night to enjoy dinner on your own in this lovely town. (B, L)
Saturday, May 16 – Split – Disembark Ship – Sibenik
Disembark our ship in Split where it’s your choice! Visit the oldest museum institution in Croatia, Split’s Archaeological Museum, founded in 1820; marvel at a diverse range of artifacts from the Paleolithic to the Iron Age -OR- admire the works of 20th century sculptor, Ivan Meštrovic during a guided tour. The Meštrovic Gallery features an array of the artist’s creations including sculptures, drawings, furniture and architecture. The museum itself is considered an art monument. Enjoy free time in the city for lunch before you journey to Šibenik. Tonight, embrace the culture of Croatia and become captivated by authentic traditional entertainment with dinner. (B, D)
Sunday, May 17 – Sibenik – Krka National Park – Sibenik
Set off on a walking tour through the ancient alleyways and roads of Šibenik, where you’ll get a chance to see the Cathedral of St. James, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then, venture to the breathtaking Krka National Park, where waterfalls tumble through dramatic gorges. Meander along the trails that surround the falls before embarking on a boat ride that takes you along the river to Skradin. (B)
Monday, May 18 – Sibenik – Zagreb
This morning, travel to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia! Step right into the history and culture of everyday life as you tour the city with a local guide. Become acquainted with the city as you see the main sights of the capital, including the Croatian National Theater and Opera House, the Croatian Parliament building, the illustrious Zagreb Cathedral, and the legendary Stone Gate. Tonight, raise a glass and say živjeli (“to life”) as we toast our amazing journey over Istrian cuisine. (B, D)
