Wednesday, June 30 – Paris, France – Tour Begins – Board Cruise Ship
Embark MS Amadeus Diamond – Your journey opens in Paris, the “City of Light,” where you will board your ship. Your home for the next seven nights, this beautifully appointed vessel has all the modern amenities you could need, such as the newest technology, panoramic deck, panorama bar, outstanding service, and delicious cuisine and wine with every dinner. Thursday, July 1 – Conflans – Auvers-sur-Oise
Arrive in Conflans, situated at the meeting point of the Oise and Seine rivers. Spend time in the town of Auvers-sur-Oise, once home to several 19th-century painters including Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissaro and Vincent Van Gogh. Walk in the footsteps of Van Gogh on a city tour that retraces his time here. Visit his home at Auberge Ravoux, see the idyllic fields that inspired his last masterpiece, and pause at his final resting place. (B, L, D)
Friday, July 2 – Rouen
Dock in Rouen, the historic capital of the Normandy Region of France. Step into the past on a guided walking tour of this medieval city, visiting the cathedral, the Church of Joan of Arc, and the Gros Horloge astronomical clock. Enjoy some time to explore on your own, perhaps visiting the site where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. This afternoon, consider taking an optional excursion along the “Abbey Trail” with a local expert, heading to the ruins of St. Wandrille Abbey and Jumièges. This evening, we come together as our Amazing Journeys community for a Shabbat Service, followed by a group dinner onboard our ship. (B, L, D)
Saturday, July 3 – Le Havre – Honfleur – Le Havre
Journey to Le Havre, set on the English Channel at the mouth of the Seine River. There will be an optional tour offered to Étretat, a charming fishing village with stunning clifftop views and a history of famous artists. Later, we join together and travel to the quaint village of Honfleur, where you’ll discover the narrow streets and old port with a local guide. View the Lieutenancy, the Old Salt Stores, and St. Catherine’s Church before enjoying time to shop or explore independently. We know you’ll love this little town as much as we do! (B, L, D)
Sunday, July 4 – Le Havre – Normandy Excursion – Caudebec-en-Caux
Travel through Normandy to visit significant D-Day Landing sites of World War II. Begin at Pointe du Hoc, a strategic German battery that defended beaches from the Allied invasion, and see the craters from the cataclysmic bombings. View Omaha Beach, one of the U.S. landing zones, before visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Visitor Center. After lunch, head to Arromanche-les-Bains to see the Mulberry Harbor, a great WWII engineering feat for the Allies. Return to the ship in Caudebec-en-Caux. (B, L, D)
Monday, July 5 – Les Andelys – Château Gaillard – Giverny
Begin your morning in Les Andelys to visit the 12th-century Château Gaillard, constructed by Richard the Lionheart, and admire the views of the French countryside. Continue to Giverny, where tranquil gardens and shady paths inspired some of Monet’s greatest works. As you tour his home and its surrounding gardens, a guide will share stories of the renowned artist’s life. Back onboard, enjoy the Captain’s Gala dinner, immediately followed by an evening of dancing. (B, L, D)
Tuesday, July 6 – Paris
Take a panoramic coach tour of Paris, passing by beloved sites such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Les Invalides, and the Louvre. The afternoon is yours. Perhaps you will select from two optional excursions – visit King Louis XIV’s magnificent Palace of Versailles,* or join a guided walking tour of the Montmartre district. This evening is yours to enjoy the beautiful “City of Lights”, whether you dine onboard or in the city of Paris, it’s sure to be an evening to remember! (B, L, D)
Wednesday, July 7 – Paris – Disembark Ship – Tour Ends
Your tour comes to a close today, leaving you with many treasured memories of French
waterways and your Amazing Journey. (B)

Cancellation Policy for Cruise and Pre-Cruise Packages: Prior to December 28, 2020, there is a $75 penalty for cancellation. From December 29, 2020 – March 25, 2021, the cancellation penalty is the amount of the deposit for the river cruise and pre-cruise package. From March 26 – April 26, 2021, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the total cost of the river cruise and pre-cruise package. From April 27 – May 27, 2021, the cancellation penalty is 85% of the total cost of the river cruise and pre-cruise package. Cancellations made on May 28, 2021 or after and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the trip. A Travel Protection & Trip Cancellation waiver is available – see the paragraph below. This waiver must be purchased with your trip registration and initial deposit. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
Travel Protection & Trip Cancellation Waiver: For US citizens, our tour operator offers a travel protection and cancellation waiver for $349. You may cancel for any reason up to one-day prior to the start of the first component purchased from Amazing Journeys whether it be the tour or our pre-cruise package. This Cancel For Any Reason policy must be purchased at the time of deposit. Click here for full policy terms and details. If you are requesting a double occupancy room, should you need to cancel, you will be responsible for the difference between the double occupancy and the single occupancy rate as your roommate will still be occupying the stateroom. Once purchased, this policy is non-refundable. More information will be sent with your tour confirmation.
Proof of Citizenship: All passengers must present a valid passport (valid for six months beyond the last date of travel) to board the vessel. At present time, no visas are required on this itinerary for citizens from the US, Canada, UK and EU. If travelers are from countries outside of those mentioned, it is up to the travelers to research and know if visas are required before embarking on this tour. Please be aware that many countries are considering a visa requirement for entrance. Should this be the case for France, you would be responsible for applying and paying for your visa.
Covid Testing and Vaccines: We will be advising at a time closer to the time of travel if any documentation is necessary in order to enter France. Requirements are changing often and it is too early to gauge what the requirements will be at the time of travel.
Activity Level: On a scale of 1 – 5, with 5 being the most challenging, this tour is rated at a level 2. This means you should feel confident walking at least 30 – 45 minutes at a time over a variety of terrains from cobblestone streets to easy straight-aways to a few hills or flights of stairs. You’re comfortable walking a few city blocks at a time, but also enjoy time to relax.
Dining Preference: This ship has an open seating policy in their dining room.
Port Taxes, Government Fees and Gratuities: To make your journey as hassle free as possible, Amazing Journeys has included port taxes and government fees in the rate and are subject to change. Gratuities for the Tour Manager, ship’s crew, shore excursion guides and drivers are included in our pricing. The river boat company reserves the right to charge a supplemental fuel charge. Should these be instated, you will be notified in advance of final payment.
Air and Transfers: Airfare has not been included in the tour rates. Transfers to and from the ship are
available at an additional cost. Information will be sent as we move closer to the sailing date. All passengers will fly roundtrip Paris (CDG).
