Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until December 6, 2021, there is a $75 penalty for cancellation. From December 7, 2021 – March 2, 2022, the cancellation penalty is $350. From March 3 – April 19, 2022, the cancellation penalty is 35% of the total package price. From April 20 – May 2, 2022 the cancellation penalty is 50%. From May 3, 2022 until the day of the tour, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. Travel protection is recommended for participation in this program.

For US citizens, our tour operator offers a travel protection and cancellation waiver for $269. You may cancel for any reason up to one-day prior to the start of the first component purchased from Amazing Journeys for this tour package. If you are requesting a double occupancy room, should you need to cancel, you will be responsible for the difference between the double occupancy and the single occupancy rate as your roommate will still be occupying the stateroom. Once purchased, this policy is non-refundable.
Flights and Transfers: Airfare is not included with the tour cost. You will fly into New Orleans (MSY) and out of Nashville (BNA). Transfers are not included. Details on transportation will be sent with your tour documents prior to travel. Please don’t purchase your airline ticket until you have received a confirmation letter from Amazing Journeys which will include flight parameters.
COVID Precautions: Until further notice, we require you to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least two weeks before departure, and a booster is recommended to keep you healthy and safe while traveling but at this time, not required. Please send us a copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card with the CDC logo by email or fax to Amazing Journeys. We do not test for COVID-19 or any other diseases. It is up to each traveler to be aware of any requirements or changes to state and country mandates and airline requirements as they are changing often. Depending upon the situation at the time of this trip and the destination, some components may be modified, and masks may be required as determined by the CDC.
Passports & Visas: A Passport is not necessary to travel on this itinerary for US citizens. For those of any other country, a passport is necessary. Please check with the US Embassy to see whether a visa is required and what is necessary for Covid precautions.
Taxes & Gratuities: Taxes, surcharges and government fees are included and are subject to change. Gratuities have been included on this tour. Tips for the Tour Manager, local driver, specialty guides, luggage porters and included meals are included in the cost of the tour. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff in the hotel and tipping is at your discretion.
Activity Level: The overall activity level of this tour is a level 2. This offers a balanced approach to travel. This is a busy itinerary but offers times of relaxation. Walking tours may be at least 30-45 minutes at a time over a variety of terrains – from cobblestone streets to easy pathways; a couple of hills or a few flights of stairs or a few city blocks at a time.

Sunday, May 8 – New Orleans, Louisiana – Tour Begins
Step back in time on a cultural getaway that opens in the “Jazz Capital of the World,” New Orleans! This soulful city abounds with rich history, mouthwatering Cajun and Creole cuisine, and of course, an incomparable soundtrack. Our group will be arriving throughout the day. This evening, meet your fellow travelers at our Amazing Journeys Welcome Orientation, followed by a festive New Orleans-style group Welcome Dinner together. (D)
Monday, May 9 – New Orleans French Quarter
Today it’s your choice! Embark on a walking tour of New Orleans’ famous French Quarter, viewing St. Louis Cathedral, the bustling French Marketplace, Pirates Alley and more -OR- set out on a panoramic motor coach tour of New Orleans with a local guide, seeing the famous St. Louis Cemetery #3 and stunning mansions. Later, everyone will meet back up to enjoy a taste of a true New Orleans favorite – beignets at the famed Café Du Monde. This afternoon, we’ve included a jazz brunch at one of New Orleans’ most famous restaurants, The Court of Two Sisters. Relax and enjoy the live jazz music as you soak in the centuries-old atmosphere and the largest courtyard in the French Quarter. Indulge in the expansive brunch buffet, with over 60 items available, including made to order omelets and Eggs Benedict. After brunch, embark on a leisurely cruise aboard the traditional Steamboat Natchez, iconic in New Orleans. The ambience will transport you back in time to the 19th century when steamboats were the mode of transportation of choice to travel along the Mississippi. Sit back and take in your surroundings during your narrated harbor tour, listening to stories of days gone by along the way. As your paddlewheel boat makes its way back, it is time for a lively jazz band to take the stage for some toe-tapping fun! (B, L)
Tuesday, May 10 – New Orleans
Journey through Louisiana’s swamp on a cruise narrated by the captain himself. Learn about the ecosystem’s history and ecology while keeping an eye out for wildlife including bald eagles, herons, turtles and alligators. Then, celebrate New Orleans’ festive side at Mardi Gras World, the working warehouse where artisans create the floats for the famous parades, and get a taste of king cake. Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own before meeting your fellow travel companions at Maison Bourbon, a live jazz club in the French Quarter. (B)
Wednesday, May 11 – New Orleans – Memphis, Tennessee
Travel north to Memphis, the birthplace of the Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Soul. Enjoy Southern hospitality at your hotel just steps away from the iconic Graceland. (B, D)
Thursday, May 12 – Memphis
This morning, it’s your choice! Jive along to “Jailhouse Rock” as you visit Graceland, the stately mansion of the “King” himself, and tour Elvis’ 14-acre estate, home, private jets and Meditation Garden -OR- embark on a Civil Rights tour and follow the route of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last march via our bus, stopping at Mason Temple where he gave his famous “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech the night before he was assassinated. After our morning tours, enjoy free time to grab lunch on your own before hopping back on our coach with some local musicians, who explain why Memphis embraces its title as the “Home of the Blues.” Later you will join a Memphis Musical History Tour. Begin with a visit to Sun Studio, perhaps the most famous recording studio in the world. A guided tour will introduce you to the location that began the careers of musical legends such as Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, and of course, Elvis Presley. It was here at Sun Studio in 1954 where Elvis first began recording commercially, changing the music world forever. View the priceless memorabilia, listen to audio clips from recording sessions, and visit the record store and soda shop at this iconic recording studio. Next, we’ll visit the Rock N’ Soul Museum, located on famous Beale Street. Explore the museum at your own pace, with a self-guided audio tour that highlights Memphis’ musical journey. Then, pop next door to the Memphis Music Hall of Fame to see rare memorabilia, video performances and interviews of some of the greatest musicians of all time. We’ll complete our day with a group “Memphis BBQ” dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Friday, May 13 – Memphis – Nashville
Roll along Music Highway to Nashville – the “Music Capital of the World.” Along the way, stop in Brownsville at the West Delta Heritage Center to discover the roots of the country blues sound and the hometown of Tina Turner – the Queen of Rock. Arrive in Nashville and tour the historic Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. What began as a building where a local radio broadcast show aired once a week in 1925 has grown to become an entertainment complex that attracts music fans from all over the world. This evening, we’ll celebrate Shabbat together. Later, take your reserved seat at the renowned Grand Ole Opry. (B)
Saturday, May 14 – Nashville
Explore the Country Music Hall of Fame, the world’s largest museum of popular music, and check out the vast collections of memorabilia, costumes, recordings, and instruments. Tour RCA Studio B and gain an insider’s look at Nashville’s oldest remaining recording studio, where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Charley Pride once recorded classic hits. You may even have the opportunity to record your own hit! Then, test your culinary skills at a hands-on chocolate-making lesson at the iconic Goo Goo Candy Shop. Tonight, gather for a our Amazing Journeys Farewell Event, followed by a farewell dinner (B, D)
