Day 1 – Friday, October 12 – Albuquerque, New Mexico
Today you’ll fly to Albuquerque, founded in 1706, where you will make your way from the airport to our hotel. Our centrally located hotel is the only one located in the Old Town section, which is nearby two major museums, the zoo, nature center, Tingley Beach and Old Town shops and galleries. Tonight, we’ll get to meet the members of our group at our Group Welcome and Orientation, followed by a Shabbat Service and group dinner. (D)
Day 2 – Saturday, October 13 – Dawn Patrol – Mass Ascension – Albuquerque City Tour – Balloon Glow
Today you’ll experience one of the most photographed events in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Early this morning, you’ll view over 100 colorful balloons from around the world at Dawn Patrol, followed by the Mass Ascension. The balloons will make your spirits soar as the sky becomes an artist’s pallet of multicolored orbs dancing in the cool morning light. Later, we’ll enjoy an Albuquerque City Tour featuring the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center depicting the history and culture of New Mexico’s 19 Native American pueblos. Our tour will stop in historic Old Town, giving you the opportunity to stroll the historic adobe buildings that house over 150 shops, galleries and restaurants. We’ll also see the icon of Old Town, the San Felipe de Neri Church. Later, we’ll return to the Balloon Fiesta where we’ll witness the Balloon Glow, where just before dusk, burners from hundreds of balloons light up the evening sky. It will be an evening you’ll always remember. (B, D)
Day 3 – Sunday, October 14 – Bandelier – Los Alamos – Santa Fe
This morning, we’ll travel to Bandelier National Monument, best known for its mesas, sheer-walled canyons, rock art and ancestral Pueblo dwellings. Next, we visit the Los Alamos Bradbury Science Museum to learn about the Manhattan Project and the creation of the world’s first atomic bomb. Later today, we arrive in Santa Fe. Our well-located hotel is just a few blocks off the historic plaza, right in the center of town. (B)
Day 4 – Monday, October 15 – Santa Fe
Today we’ll discover Santa Fe, the upscale resort and artist community with Spanish-Pueblo roots. We’ll discover Santa Fe on a city tour, including details about the history, culture and unique architecture of this interesting city. See the Plaza, Loretto Chapel and the Palace of the Governor’s, a Santa Fe landmark built in 1610. Enjoy the rest of the day and evening at your own pace in this historic city where you can explore the many art galleries, museums, restaurants and shops. (B)
Day 5 – Tuesday, October 16 – Santa Fe – Taos – Santa Fe
This morning we’ll travel north via the “High Road to Taos,” passing through ancient villages founded in the 1700’s. We’ll stop in the Spanish village of Chimayo to visit El Santuario, revered by pilgrims for the healing power of dirt found inside the chapel. We arrive in Taos, the historic home of the Pueblo Indians, and will enjoy a brief Taos City Tour and learn about this fascinating city, rich in culture and scenery. Located atop a plateau between the Rio Grande and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos has lured artists and writers since the 19th century. Enjoy lunch on your own and shopping in the Taos Plaza. Later, we’ll include a tour of the Taos Pueblo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America; before we return to Santa Fe. Tonight, we’ll host a Farewell Dinner before heading home tomorrow. (B, D)
Day 6 – Wednesday, October 17 – Santa Fe – Albuquerque – Home
Today we’ll transfer you to the Albuquerque Airport for your flight home. (B)

Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until April 10, 2012, there is a $75.00 penalty for cancellation. From April 11 – July 25, 2012, the cancellation penalty is $350.00. From July 26 – September 11, 2012, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the total package price. From September 12, 2012 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.
