Day 1 – Wednesday, April 17 – Singapore
Embark Azamara Journey – Welcome to Singapore! In just 150 years, this cosmopolitan bundle of energy has become the busiest port in the world. Scratch the surface and you’ll discover a rich social stew of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western cultures, religions, ancient treasures and British colonial impressions that give rise to a unique Singaporean identity. The cultural fusion is perhaps best expressed in Singapore’s unofficial language, Singlish, a unique patois of English, Chinese and Malay.
Day 2 – Thursday, April 18 – Singapore
Depart at 6 pm – At first, the skyscrapers, modern malls, and fast-food chains conjure a large American city. But just close your eyes for moment, get a whiff of fresh spices from an open-air market and listen to the sound of an imam calling the faithful to prayer – then you will realize that this is an image like you’ve never seen before. Explore Singapore’s fine cuisine and shops or take a ride on the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel, and check out the architectural “Fantasyland”.
Day 3 – Friday, April 19 – At Sea
Explore our home-away-from-home and get to know your fellow Amazing Journeyers as we enjoy our first day at sea. Azamara Journey has a ton to offer from upscale restaurants, live music, enrichment programs, an ultra relaxing spa, pools, dance classes and more . So learn your way and join in on some of our group exclusive events and gear up for a great vacation of adventure, exploration and good times.
Day 4 – Saturday, April 20 – Georgetown – Penang, Malaysia
Arrive at 8 am, Depart at 6 pm – Gorgeous beaches, abundant culture, rich history and excellent food – truly, there is more to see and experience in the “Pearl of the Orient”. Take a rickshaw ride through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown, untouched by World War II destruction, and see how European, Malay, and Chinese cultures and customs merged along trade routes. One of the most multicultural cities in all of Asia, Penang is like a concentrated version of the entire continent, while at the same time it maintains an identity all its own.
Day 5 – Sunday, April 21 – At Sea
Today you’ll get to enjoy all you came on a cruise to do… relax poolside with your new friends while sipping a Pina Colada or a Singapore Sling, enjoy learning about the different destinations with onboard enrichment programs or de-stress with a hot stone massage.
Day 6 – Monday, April 22 – At Sea
Participate in one of many onboard Amazing Journeys programs, learn a new skill in one of the onboard classes, play a game of cards, take a yoga or pilates class or enjoy destination influenced entertainment.
Day 7 – Tuesday, April 23 – At Sea
Our day at sea will provide lots of opportunities for great times on our floating resort. Filled with countless ways to spend your day; soak up the sun by the pool, work out in the gym, take part in our exclusive Amazing Journeys Slot Tournament and more!
Day 8 – Wednesday, April 24 – Colombo, Sri Lanka
Arrive at 8 am – Colombo is a bustling city of beaches, temples, monuments, museums and markets. This multi-cultural port city features a mixture of colonial and modern influences, and its large natural harbor has been a trading center for more than 2,000 years. As you explore the city, it will be obvious why this island is called “The Jewel of the Indian Ocean”.
Day 9 – Thursday, April 25 – Colombo, Sri Lanka
Depart at 10 pm – This exotic city is a fascinating mix of past and future. There are so many things to see: from gardens to churches to temples and markets, this is a great place not only to explore but also to relax. The city is known as a cultural destination with the added benefits of first-class shopping and dining.
Day 10 – Friday, April 26 – At Sea
Spend the day relaxing poolside with your friends while enjoying your favorite beverage as you share your most exciting experiences of the trip so far. Enjoy a massage at the spa, participate in wine tasting or pilates. Choose to do it all, or nothing at all. It’s your vacation, and we want you to enjoy it as you please! Tonight, we’ll have an Amazing Journeys Shabbat gathering.
Day 11 – Saturday, April 27 – Cochin, India
Arrive at 6 am, depart at 10 pm – One of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian coast of India, Cochin was once known as the center of the Indian spice trade. Subsequently, the town has a distinct European feel, due to the fact that it was once inhabited by the Portuguese, Dutch, and English. Their influence on the town’s forts, palaces, museums, and old churches are still evident today, which is why Cochin is known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.” Once known as “Jew Town”, the oldest of the Indian Jewish communities can be found in Cochin and we will have the opportunity today to visit the local synagogue and learn more about the Jewish history.
Day 12 – Sunday, April 28 – At Sea
Sleep in and order room-service, go back to your favorite restaurant or relax at the spa. Enjoy the onboard cafe, a great meeting spot, where signature coffee beverages are always complimentary. Soak in the final day at sea.
Day 13 – Monday, April 29 – Goa, India
Arrive at 7 am, Depart at 5 pm – How can you resist a place whose local motto is “Sossegade,” which translates to “Take it Easy”? Long a favorite destination for New Age travelers seeking the transcendent good life, these days Goa is more hip than hippie. High-end restaurants and shopping complement the dreamy beach life. Goa’s historical atmosphere, shaped by a fascinating mix of Portuguese and Indian influences, is unique. The Portuguese were here for 500 years, and their presence can still be felt in customs like the siesta the Goans take every afternoon.
Day 14 – Tuesday, April 30 – Mumbai (Bombay), India
Arrive at 12 pm– Once known as Bombay, Mumbai is the largest city in India and offers a glimpse of India past, present and future. Explore British colonial architecture, temples, mosques and churches, the Bollywood movie scene, lively pubs and restaurants, and huge shopping bazaars like the Thieves Market. Bring the colors of Mumbai home in 18-karat gold jewelry, pashmina shawls and traditional kurtas and sarees.
Day 15 – Wednesday, May 1 – Mumbai (Bombay), India
Disembark am – Soak in the last of your Indian experience before we head home, taking with us new friends and memories of a fabulous vacation. Hungry for more of India? Why not join us on a post-cruise adventure to the Taj Mahal and Delhi?
