Day 1 – Wednesday, September 25 Overnight Flight
Epic scenery, winding coastlines, remarkable cultural diversity and abundant wildlife come together in an incredible experience.
Day 2 – Thursday, September 26 Tour Begins – Cape Town, South Africa
Welcome to the beautiful harborside city of Cape Town • Architecture which fuses French, German and Dutch traditions sets the stage for a thrilling cultural journey. This evening, savor a true African dining experience • Explore the traditional art of African drumming before you sample sixteen local delicacies. (D)
Day 3 – Friday, September 27 Cape Town
Step aboard a cable car that whisks you to an altitude of more than 3,000 feet • Land atop Table Mountain • Gaze out at Cape Town, Robben Island and Lion’s Head • Return to the city via Table Bay, passing through the Moorish Malay Quarter on a panoramic tour • Pause along the way at Milnerton Lighthouse • Spend the remainder of your afternoon at leisure • Discover charming Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, known for its shopping and entertainment venues • Be sure to stop by the local craft market for some hidden gems. Tonight we enjoy Shabbat together. (B, D)
Day 4 – Saturday, September 28 Cape Town
Marvel at the coastal scenery and pleasant towns that populate the Cape Peninsula • Travel out to Cape Point on the southwestern tip of Africa • Listen to the tales behind the numerous ship wrecks which attest to the treacherous nature of these waters • Come to know the Cape of Good Hope and take a tram to the top of the mountain • Enjoy a leisurely hike down • Next you are off to Boulder Beach to see the penguins who call it home • Later this evening, make some new South African friends during a home-hosted dinner • Sit down with a local family and learn about their daily life • Perhaps you’ll share stories from your own experiences. Day 5 – Sunday, September 29 Cape Town – Hermanus
Travel along the coast to the charming seaside village of Hermanus • Enjoy a winery tour before your lunch and wine pairing • Relax with some leisure time at the hotel where you may choose to enjoy a spa treatment or simply kick back at the pool. (B, L)
Day 6 – Monday, September 30 Hermanus Region
Spend a free day exploring Hermanus • Perhaps you’ll choose to test your mettle and opt for a thrilling great white shark experience. (B)
Day 7 – Tuesday, October 1 Hermanus – Entabeni Conservancy
Fly to the city of Johannesburg • Upon arrival head to the Entabeni Conservancy • Gather for an evening game drive • Have your cameras ready as you search for the Big Five (lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhino) • As the sun sets enjoy a traditional African sun downer • Get out of your 4×4 for a cocktail as the sun drops behind the mountains • Sample a local favorite – Wild Game Biltong – before continuing on • Keep your eyes peeled for the great cats preparing to hunt • Return to the lodge for dinner under the stars. (B, D)
Day 8 – Wednesday, October 2 Entabeni Conservancy
Rise before the sun and set out on a game drive • Enjoy coffee and tea in the bush before returning to the lodge for breakfast • Later, learn to follow the clues left by wildlife during a track identification walk with a ranger • After you have worked up an appetite, take time for a leisurely lunch in the gardens • Following dinner, continue your quest for the Big Five during another exciting game drive. (B, L, D)
Day 9 – Thursday, October 3 Entabeni Conservancy – Johannesburg
Carry on your quest for the Big Five before breakfast • Later, travel to the vibrant city of Johannesburg • Along the way, your tour manager helps you discover the history of the local languages • A guided tour of Soweto – South West Township – showcases luxurious mansions and informal settlements. (B)
Day 10 – Friday, October 4 Johannesburg – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe • Visit a local village to learn more about the regional culture • Embark upon a walking tour of stunning Victoria Falls • Tonight, be greeted in Shona and Ndebele, the local languages, as you enjoy a BOMA dinner • Partake in a hand washing ceremony, followed by a sampling of traditional beer and snacks, as a prelude to dinner • Delight in a wide selection that includes game meat such as kudu, crocodile, ostrich and wart hog • Try a few Zimbabwean dishes • Traditional dancers, the Sangoma (story teller) and a local witch doctor complete the experience. Day 11 – Saturday, October 5 Victoria Falls
Early this morning depart on an elephant back safari and a chance to meet African elephants up close • Interact with this gorgeous animal • Visit a local craft market • Enjoy some free time at the lodge and reflect on your surroundings as you relax while overlooking the wildlife watering hole. (B)
Day 12 – Sunday, October 6 Victoria Falls – Chobe, Botswana
Watch for bushbuck as well as bird life during a nature walk with a local guide • Travel to Chobe, Botswana for an exciting safari cruise • Spot wildlife along the water’s edge • Find hippos swimming along the shores and crocodiles basking in the sun. (B, L, D)
Day 13 – Monday, October 7 Chobe
Today features morning and afternoon game drives in the one-of-a-kind Chobe National Park • View the animals as they drink from the river • This evening enjoy a private farewell barbeque by the pool, sampling some game meat and local fish. (B, L, D)
Day 14 – Tuesday, October 8 Chobe – Johannesburg – Tour Ends
Fly to Johannesburg where your tour ends. You will arrive in New York on Wednesday, October 9. (B)

Flight packages are available as follows. Passengers must select one option:
International flight package from JFK including Intra-African flights and transfers: $2690 (including taxes)
Intra-African flights and transfers (if international flights coincide with group arrival and departure): $1499 + $100 transfers (including taxes)
Business class for international flights may be available at an upgraded rate upon request.
Roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers are included when purchasing our international group air package. If you have arranged for your own flights, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing transfers. The cost is $100 roundtrip if times coincide with our group air schedule.
Airfares are subject to change until airline tickets are actually purchased. Airline tickets will be issued on March 22, 2013. Once airline tickets are purchased, they are subject to a cancellation fee of 100%.

Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until March 21, 2013, there is a $100.00 penalty for cancellation. From March 22 – July 25, 2013, the cancellation penalty is $2,750.00. (includes cost of the airline ticket which is non-refundable). From July 26 – September 5, 2013, the cancellation penalty is $4,000.00 of the total package price, including airfare. From September 6, 2013 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price, including airfare. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.

Taxes and Gratuities: All taxes, service charges and government fees have been included in the cost of the tour package and airline tickets. At this time, there are no departure taxes. Gratuities have been included on this itinerary for included features. They include tips for drivers and guides, safari guides, tour manager, servers for included meals, and baggage handling in and out of each hotel. Taxes, service charges and government fees are based on November 2012 rates and are always subject to change.
Passport and Visa Requirements: A valid passport is required for travel to Africa. It must have at least 6 months validity beyond the last date of travel. More details will be provided at a later date.
Currency fluctuations: In the case of currency fluctuations of more than 3%, we reserve the right to adjust our pricing accordingly in order that we may be able to operate the tour effectively.
