Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until March 25, 2021, there is a $50 penalty for cancellation. From March 27 – July 20, 2021, the cancellation penalty is $400. From July 21 – August 23, 2021 the cancellation penalty is 35% of the cost of the tour. From August 24, 2021 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the cost of the tour. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey. Travel protection is recommended for participation in this program. Information will be sent with tour confirmation.
Travel Protection Plan – Cancel For Any Reason: Our tour operator offers a travel protection and cancellation waiver for citizens of the US, Canada and Australia only – $349 USD, $399 CAD. Please contact Amazing Journeys for rates for Australian citizens. This Travel Protection Plan affords guests flexibility to cancel their travel plans for any reason up to 24 hours before departure for a full cash refund – not a voucher. In addition to pre-trip cancellation, the Travel Protection Plan offers additional coverages like trip interruption, medical expenses, baggage loss, and more. If you are requesting a double occupancy room, should you need to cancel, you will be responsible for the difference between the double occupancy and the single occupancy rate as your roommate will still be occupying the room.

Flights and Transfers: International airfare is not included in the tour rate. $300 for Intra-flights have been included in the rates. For your flights, it is important that you not purchase airfare until you receive a confirmation letter from Amazing Journeys which will contain specific flight parameters. This tour begins and ends in Athens (ATH). Transfers to the first hotel and from the last hotel (both in Athens) are not included.
Taxes and Gratuities: Taxes, surcharges, and government fees are subject to change. Gratuities have been included on this tour and include tips for the tour manager, local guides, drivers, luggage porters and included meals. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff in the hotels and tipping is at your discretion.
Passport & Visa Requirements: A passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary. It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. A visa is not required for citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, UK or EU countries. Please note that visa requirements can change at any time and it is up to the traveler to be aware of visa requirements.
COVID Precautions: Until further notice, we require you to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least two weeks before departure, and you must send us a copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card with the CDC logo by email to or fax to Amazing Journeys. We do not test for COVID-19 or any other diseases. Masks will be required in all indoor public spaces except when dining. It is up to each traveler to be aware of any requirements or changes to state mandates and airline requirements as they are changing often. We are currently operating smaller groups and using larger busses. Masks will be required in all indoor public spaces. Many events will be held outside and we will be having reminders of social distancing. Hand sanitizers will be distributed, and frequent hand washing and sanitizing will be encouraged throughout your stay. Depending upon the situation at the time of this trip and the destination, some tour components may be modified, including meals and how many travelers we may limit to sitting at each table.

Our tour begins in the capitol city of Athens, a cultural trove for art, food, music, and history. This evening, get to know your fellow travelers at our Amazing Journeys Orientation and Welcome Dinner featuring Greek specialties at a local restaurant in Athens – Opa! (D)
Tuesday, September 28 – Athens
Enjoy a panoramic tour of the highlights in Athens showcasing the city’s ancient and glorious monuments, such as the Temple of Zeus, the Parliament, and the Olympic Stadium. Next, ascend the steep hill of the Acropolis. Greek for “highest city,” the Acropolis was the religious center of ancient Athens and is crowned by the Parthenon, considered the pinnacle of classical Greek architecture. After, you can stay in the area for a visit on your own to the Acropolis Museum (fee applies – open until 8pm). This evening is free to enjoy on your own. We recommend walking through the Plaka, the perfect spot for people watching, shopping and food! (B)
Wednesday, September 29 – Athens – Thermopylae – Meteora – Kalambaka
Travel north through central Greece to Thermopylae. Stop to see a monument dedicated to Leonidas who died defending the city against the Persians. Arrive in Metéora and visit two remote monasteries situated in a unique landscape of limestone rock “towers” that extend nearly 900 feet into the air. Over 600 years ago, Byzantine monks chose to build their monastic community perched atop these virtually inaccessible rocks. We end our day at a family-owned taverna where we have the opportunity to savor a delicious meal with recipes passed down from generations. (B, D)
Thursday, September 30 –Kalambaka – Delphi – Arachova
This morning, visit a local studio to see painters at work creating beautiful Byzantine icons. Continue to the ancient city of Delphi, one of Greece’s most important religious centers during Classical times. A local expert will guide our group on a visit to the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Doric Temple, the ancient theatre, and the Delphi Museum with its priceless collection of ancient artifacts. It was here that the famous Oracle was consulted to foretell the destiny of Man. Continue on to charming Arachova, a popular ski resort town with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. (B, D)
Friday, October 1 – Arachova – Olympia
Travel along the Gulf of Corinth, crossing into the Peloponnese to the historic city of Olympia, a testament to the grandeur of ancient Greek civilization. Visit a local farm in the countryside and meet with the owners to learn about everyday life. Following the tour, enjoy a tasting of local wines, olive oil, homemade jams, marmalades and sweets. This evening, join together with our Amazing Journeys community for Shabbat services, followed by a group dinner. (B, D)
Saturday, October 2 – Olympia
Our guided visit to ancient Olympia includes a tour of the sanctuary of Zeus, the Olympic Stadium – where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 B.C. – and the museum. Next, learn how to cook some of the region’s best dishes as we partake in a Mediterranean cooking experience followed by a traditional Greek lunch. This evening, broaden your knowledge of traditional Greek musical instruments and folkloric dances with a delightful Greek dance class. (B, L, D)
Sunday, October 3 – Olympia – Mycenae – Nafplio
Enjoy spectacular scenery as we cross the Arkadian Mountains en route to the ancient city of Mycenae for a guided visit of the excavations featuring the Beehive Tombs and the Lion Gate. Our day ends in the picturesque seaside resort of Nafplio. This evening is yours to relax and enjoy the narrow streets of this quaint town, with lots of options for outdoor dining. (B)
Monday, October 4 – Nafplio – Athens – Mykonos
Early this morning, transfer to the port of Athens for the high-speed ferry ride to Mykonos, the whitewashed jewel of the Cyclades Islands. Enjoy magnificent views as we cruise across the brilliant Aegean Sea to this island paradise. (B, D)
Tuesday, October 5 – Mykonos
Enjoy a relaxing day to independently explore the charms of Mykonos. Don’t miss Mykonos Town, where mazes of narrow streets link the whitewashed buildings and traditional life continues amidst the bustling activity. There are lovely beaches, terrific shopping and plenty of streets for exploration. For those who prefer, join an optional excursion to the nearby island of Delos (fee applies), the fabled birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. (B)
Wednesday, October 6 – Mykonos – Santorini
Today we leave Mykonos behind and cruise to the most spectacular destination in the Mediterranean, the fabled island of Santorini. This evening is free to enjoy so many dining options on Santorini. For those who prefer, we have chartered a one-way bus into the town of Fira where there is shopping galore and restaurants set on the edge of the volcano, with views to the Aegean Sea. Return arrangements are on your own, (B)
Thursday, October 7 – Santorini – Oia – Santorini
Our day begins with a visit to the excavation site of ancient Akrotiri, the most important prehistoric settlement found anywhere in the Eastern Mediterranean. Known as the “Minoan Pompeii,” the flourishing town was at once destroyed and preserved by a volcanic eruption around 1450 B.C. Next, travel through a fascinating landscape of vineyards, whitewashed chapels and volcanic cliffs to the spectacular town of Oia, where the best views of the crater are found. We’ll end our day with a visit to a local winery that produces the unique and famous wines of Santorini. This evening, enjoy one of the many amazing restaurants perched along the edge of the cliffs of Santorini. (B)
Friday, October 8 – Santorini
We have purposely left this day tree for leisure time to relax or independently explore Santorini, considered one of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Shop in Thira’s charming town center on the Street of Gold, known for its jewelry, take in the breathtaking scenery, visit a local museum or simply enjoy the amenities of our hotel. Tonight, we come together for a Shabbat service, Greek style! After, we will enjoy Shabbat dinner together. (B, D)
Saturday, October 9 – Santorini – Athens
Bid farewell to the Greek Islands and fly back to Athens for our overnight stay. Celebrate the end of a memorable trip to Greece with a delightful Amazing Journeys Farewell Dinner. We’ll wrap up our tour together in a fun and memorable way! (B, D)
