Saturday, February 26 – Arrival in Buenos Aires – Tour Begins
You will arrive in the bustling city of Buenos Aires in the morning where our adventure starts with an overnight stay. This evening, join us for our Amazing Journeys Welcome Event, followed by an evening at leisure; we’ll show you a fun area of town with some great restaurants to enjoy dinner on your own.
Sunday, February 27 – Buenos Aires – Ushuaia
Early this morning, we’ll be transferred to our charter flight to Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city. Arriving in this popular and attractive resort town and surrounded by snow-capped mountains, rivers, and waterfalls, we’ll board our hybrid electric-powered expedition ship, the MS Roald Amundsen, specially designed for sustainable cruising in the polar waters of Antarctica. After a briefing from our Expedition Team, we’ll have time to explore the ship and kick off our journey with a welcome dinner as we set sail towards Antarctica.
Breakfast and dinner are included today.
Monday, February 28 – Tuesday, February 29 – Crossing the Drake Passage
Prepare yourself for Antarctica as we cross the infamous Drake Passage, and trust us – it will take your breath away! On the two-day crossing through the Drake Passage, the Expedition Team will equip you with everything you need to make the most of your polar expedition. Visit the onboard Science Center and find out what lies ahead. Listen as experts talk passionately about Antarctica’s history, the science beneath the ice, and the impact of climate change and plastic pollution. Learn how to make your visit as safe and as low-impact as possible and discover the Citizen Science projects you can join. There’s plenty of time to relax, so unwind in the spa and wellness area, enjoy delicious cuisine, and join together for Amazing Journeys activities.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included each day.
Wednesday, March 1 – Sunday, March 5 – Antarctica
You are now in one of the most remote areas on Earth! There have been spectacular photo opportunities on our voyage so far, but Antarctica is in an entirely different category. Nothing prepares you for your first sight of Antarctica’s immense, frozen beauty and you will be filled with wonder as you’re surrounded by looming glaciers and icebergs the size of floating cathedrals. Perhaps the most surprising part of Antarctica is the silence. The stillness that reigns is broken every so often by the locals – the wildlife. Go ashore to explore the breathtaking Antarctic scenery and get close to penguins and seals.
You will feel like a real explorer from the moment you set foot on the endless expanse of snow and ice, and from the deck there will be ample opportunities to see whales. February and March are peak whale watching months, when huge amounts of krill lure whales to the area. Nature is king here and we are mere observers. Our experienced Captain will continually monitor conditions to create the best possible itinerary for our adventure and know that each day will offer something different and thrilling. Join the Expedition Team on landings and while ice cruising. You may even have the chance to kayak among the icebergs.
Join gatherings where the various members of the Expedition Team recount the day’s activities and continue their lectures, helping expand your insight into the frozen continent. Over five magical days, experience this amazing world in a way that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included each day.
Monday, March 6 – Tuesday, March 7 – Crossing the Drake Passage
After five incredible days, we’ll have experienced so much in Antarctica. Your head will likely be filled with a swirling kaleidoscope of special memories and impressions. The next couple of days will be a chance to reflect on your adventure to the seventh continent.
As your mind tries to conjure up the magical Antarctic scenery, sift through your photos and videos to recapture a sense of its magnitude. Unwind in the sauna, enjoy spa treatments in the wellness area and soak in the last days with your new friends. We’ll gather for our Farewell Event and group dinner and toast amazing friends, wonderful memories and unforgettable scenery.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
Wednesday, March 8 – Disembarkation Ushuaia – Buenos Aires – End of Tour
In the morning, we come back to the Argentinean city of Ushuaia, the main city in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina’s southernmost province. After breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport for our chartered flight to Buenos Aires with pictures, memories and friendships to last a lifetime.
Breakfast is included today.

This trip is for you if: This trip is for you if you’re an adventurous traveler – you don’t want to miss a thing, walking and standing on ice and snow, trekking on rocks, hills and uneven surfaces isn’t a big deal. You can easily climb in and out of a zodiac raft, our transportation to Antarctica for landings from our ship. You can handle the waters of the Drake Passage, which may, at times, be rough. You can expect several early mornings and some longer days balanced with free time to recharge. When traveling in Antarctica you will encounter cold temperatures. You must be in good health and prepare properly. This trip is not a fit for those who require assistance with walking or who travel on mobility devices. Individual accommodations cannot be made for those who are not able to keep up with the group. As we explore some of the world’s most remote locations, sophisticated medical services are few and far between. Medical care at sea is limited, and often emergency sea and air services may also be inaccessible, particularly in Antarctica. It is therefore required that the cruise line knows of any current or past health issues and require a medical screening form to be completed in advance for expeditions to Antarctica.
Expedition Cruising: Expedition cruising offers unique cruises to some of the most remote and pristine waters of the world. As with all expeditions; nature prevails. Weather, and ice and sea conditions, sets the final framework for all ship operations. Safety and unparalleled guest experiences are at all times our top priorities. All our indicative itineraries are continuously evaluated for adaptions, whether this is due to constraints the elements unexpectedly presents – or exciting possibilities nature and wildlife offer. That is why it’s called an expedition!
Dietary Restrictions: On this sailing, the ship is able to accommodate many, but not all dietary requests. Travelers with very strict requests may find limited variety among the food offered. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us before registering for this trip.
Twin Accommodations: The majority of accommodations on this cruise are for twin/double rooms. Twin accommodations are available if you and a travel partner are traveling together. When signing up for twin occupancy, should one of the roommates cancel their reservation, the remaining traveling roommate is responsible for finding another roommate. Standard cancellation terms apply to any cancellation. Amazing Journeys does not offer roommate matching but we may be able to help! If you would like to be connected with others who are looking for a roommate, feel free to join this private Facebook page (Antarctica 2028 Roommate Connection) where you can be in touch with others who may have expressed interest so that you can discuss amongst yourselves. Please note – Amazing Journeys takes no responsibility for roommate matching and is unable to step in to settle disputes or disagreements that may arise. Please understand the list of those looking for a roommate may be very limited. We will allow 7 days from the time of registration for you to find a roommate. If you have not confirmed a roommate during that time, your initial deposit will be refunded.
Vaccines & Precautions: There may be specific vaccinations recommended for this itinerary. We recommend visiting a travel clinic or seeing your health professional to be sure you are up to date on vaccinations needed for international travel. Requirements can change at any time. You can get more information at the following web site: Center for Disease Control. Please note that our Amazing Journeys staff are not medical professionals and therefore are unable to give specific information on vaccinations or medications you may need for this or any other tour.
