Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until February 29, 2024, there is a $350 penalty for cancellation. From March 1 – April 1, 2024, the cancellation penalty is $750. From April 2 – April 30, 2024, the cancellation penalty is $1200 plus any pre- or post- tour hotel night penalties. From May 1, 2024 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the cost of the tour plus pre/post nights.  Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund.  There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey. Your decision not to participate on the tour due to State Department advisories, fear of travel, illness or any other reason will be deemed a cancellation.

Travel Protection: Amazing Journeys recommends you purchase travel protection.  Information will be sent with your tour confirmation.

This trip is for you if: You if you love the outdoors and love to hike. You must be in good health and prepare properly. This trip is not a fit for those who require assistance with walking or who travel on mobility devices.  There are four different hiking groups based on your desired hiking style. Alpine guides will provide assistance to help determine which group is best suited for you and different groups may be selected each day of hiking.

Wander – Wanderers want to see beautiful terrain in a very relaxed manner. They prefer to meander slowly and enjoy the scenery with shorter walks over easy ground. Long, relaxed breaks along the way offer opportunities to reflect, slow down, and take in the stunning vistas.
Pace: Slow with extended breaks
Terrain: Easy ground
Distance: Short horizontal distance
Elevation: Minimal gain and loss

Roam – Roamers are seeking a full day of hiking, but at a more relaxed pace. They will experience simpler but stunning terrain with minor amounts of elevation gain and loss. Longer breaks along the way allow for plenty of photo opportunities and time to pause.
Pace: Slow with regular breaks
Terrain: Easy and moderate
Distance: Moderate horizontal distance
Elevation: Minimal gain and loss 

Explore – Explorers want to be somewhat challenged on their trip, hiking full days in varied terrain. They can maintain a steady, moderate pace over reasonable distances, and likely already exercise multiple times per week. This group will typically navigate terrain with some elevation gain and loss, stopping for regular breaks along the way.
Pace: Moderate with regular breaks
Terrain: Varied terrain
Distance: Moderate horizontal distance
Elevation: Moderate gain and loss

Adventure – Adventurers enjoy strenuous, fast-paced activities. They are already very physically active and want to hike full days, covering a lot of ground on their trip. This group will typically navigate more challenging terrain with lots of elevation gain and loss, stopping for shorter breaks along the way.
Pace: Fast pace with short breaks
Terrain: Varied terrain
Distance: Long horizontal distance
Elevation: High gain and loss

Hiking Equipment: This program offers the use of hiking equipment including boots, rain jacket, wind pants, day pack and hiking poles. More information will be provided in future correspondences.

When nature calls on the trail: We will hike and explore remote areas where there are no conventional restrooms. Mother Nature provides trees and rocks for privacy.

Flights and Transfers:  This tour begins and ends in Calgary (YYC). It is important that you not purchase airfare until you receive a confirmation letter from Amazing Journeys which will contain specific flight parameters.  An arrival transfer is included from the Calgary Airport to the Rimrock Hotel in Banff.  A departure transfer is not included.

Twin Accommodations: Twin accommodations are available if you and a friend are traveling together.  When signing up for twin occupancy, should one of the roommates cancel, the remaining traveling roommate will assume the cost of a single supplement. Standard cancellation terms apply to any cancellation.

Passports & Visas: If you from a country outside of Canada, a passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary.  It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. If you are arriving from the US, Canada, Australia, UK, no visas are necessary at this time.  Please note that visa requirements can change at any time and it is up to the traveler to be aware of visa requirements.

Baggage: If there are luggage limits, they will be communicated to the traveler. A backpack for hiking is provided for your use while at the heli-hiking lodge.

Fuel Surcharges: Should oil costs go above $65 a barrel and our tour operators adjust the rate of the tours cost accordingly, we reserve the right to adjust the cost of the tour.

Exchange Rate: In the case of currency fluctuations greater than 3%, we reserve the right to adjust our pricing accordingly in order that we may be able to operate the tours effectively.

Taxes & Gratuities: Taxes, surcharges, and government fees are subject to change.  Gratuities have been included for hiking guides, lodge staff, drivers, pilots, servers/kitchen staff at included meals. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff at the hotels in Banff and Calgary and tipping is at your discretion.

Vaccines & Precautions: At this time there are no specific vaccinations required. We recommend you visit a travel clinic or see your health professional to be sure you are up to date on vaccinations needed for international travel. Requirements can change at any time. You can get more information at the following web sites: Center for Disease Control or Travelers Vaccines.

It is recommended you bring along an official government issued Covid-19 proof of vaccination card as countries and venues along the way may still require it and there is a possibility you may be denied entry without.

Guest Waiver: A Guest Waiver form is required from the Heli-hiking company for each participant. This will be sent to you prior to final payment.
