Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until January 5, 2016, there is a $75 penalty for cancellation. From January 6 – March 7, 2016 the cancellation penalty is $350 per person. From March 8 – April 7, 2016, the cancellation penalty is $750. From April 8 – 28, 2016, the cancellation penalty is 50% of the total package price. From April 29, 2016 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the total package price. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey.
Travel Insurance: Travel Protection Insurance is included with this package if full payment has been made 60 days prior to departure. The offered insurance coverage is limited in nature and does not include pre-existing conditions or cancellations that occur prior to the start of the tour. Additional coverage is highly recommended and details will be sent to you with your tour confirmation.
Air and Transfers: International flights are not included with the China tour package or the pre-tour package in Hong Kong. Included flights are Beijing to Xian and Xian to Shanghai. Transfers are included for those arriving the day the tour begins and the day the tour ends. Those arriving early or staying after the end of the tour are responsible for purchasing their own transfers. More information will be given closer to the departure.
Taxes and Gratuities: All taxes, government fees and gratuities have been included in the cost of the tour package. These include baggage handling (one bag per person), local guides, drivers and our professional tour guide. Taxes, surcharges and government fees are subject to change.
Passport and Visa Requirements: A passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary. It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. A blank page must be available in the passport in order to place a visa from the Chinese Embassy inside. A Chinese visa is necessary to travel on this itinerary. Amazing Journeys will help to obtain this visa for US citizens. The cost of the visa is $180. If you are a citizen of a country outside of the US, you will need to contact the Chinese Embassy in your own country for visa requirements, cost and for obtaining a visa.

Thursday, May 12 – Home City – Hong Kong
After an overnight flight, you will arrive in Hong Kong today. Some may get in early while others late this evening. The day is yours to spend at leisure. Venture out and explore Hong Kong’s vibrant streets at your own pace, or relax and unwind at our beautiful hotel, well situated on Hong Kong’s waterfront. For those who have arrived early, we can give you some wonderful recommendations for dinner, before heading off for some much needed sleep.
Friday, May 13 – Hong Kong
This morning after breakfast, we discover Hong Kong on a half-day city tour. Beginning with a tram ride up the mountain to Victoria Peak, we’re treated with sweeping panoramas from the observation deck of Hong Kong island and its bustling harbor. Our bus is waiting to take us for a scenic drive by picturesque Repulse Bay, and then stop at a local shopping Mecca, Stanley Market. Finally, we chance a visit to the water-dwelling community at Aberdeen Fishing Village. Our sightseeing schedule is done, then take some time to enjoy Hong Kong with an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps you want to do some shopping in some of the famous markets or have High Tea in the Peninsula Hotel on the Waterfront. You may want to take in a photo safari or enjoy people watching. Later, we’ll gather together to enjoy a group dinner at a local hangout, followed by the famous Laser Show and Avenue of the Stars along Hong Kong’s spectacular Waterfront. (B, D)
Saturday, May 14 – Hong Kong – Lantau – Hong Kong
Today we embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Lantau Island in Hong Kong, visiting the Giant Buddha Exhibition Hall at Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery. On our Big Buddha tour, we’ll discover pristine beaches, traditional fishing villages, lush valleys, soaring mountains and spiritual enlightenment. Ride a cable car from Tung Chung with spectacular views of Lantau Island, Ngong Ping Plateau and the South China Sea. Our Lantau Island tour includes a ferry ride and a full vegetarian lunch. This evening is free at leisure to enjoy Hong Kong. We’ll show you some of the best areas to have dinner, along with a night market or two. End the night at one of the local bars with amazing views of Hong Kong Harbor. (B, L)
Sunday, May 15 – Hong Kong – Beijing
This morning, we depart for the airport and our flight to Beijing and the start of our Amazing China tour. (B)
