Friday, August 2 – Geneva, Switzerland – Tour Begins
Today your flight will arrive in Geneva, where you will begin the trip of a lifetime. Enjoy the day and this evening, we will gather for our Welcome Program, followed by Shabbat services and an Amazing Journeys sponsored Kiddush at a local synagogue. After, enjoy a Shabbat dinner with our Amazing Journeys travelers as we toast to your alpine adventure. (D)
Saturday, August 3 – Chamonix, France
This morning we embark on a city tour of Geneva. Then, we’ll make our way to France and say bonjour to Chamonix – the perennial ski-hub nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc. This afternoon, wander the pedestrian-friendly streets of this quaint town steeped in hundreds of years of history. Tonight, join with new friends for a group dinner. (B, D)
Sunday, August 4 – Chamonix – Annecy – Chamonix
Journey to one of France’s most picturesque cities, Annecy – often called the “Venice of the Alps” due to its storybook charm. We’ll join together with a local guide on a walking tour through an old medieval town featuring canals, crisscrossing bridges and pastel-colored houses. Take advantage of some free time to explore the town’s vibrant outdoor market. This afternoon, we return to Chamonix where the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure and explore the restaurant scene of Chamonix. (B)
Monday, August 5 – Chamonix
Today, decide how you want to explore the legendary Mont Blanc – the birthplace of mountaineering – because it’s your choice! Ascend the Aiguille du Midi by cable car to an elevation of over 12,600 feet. This is the closest you can get to the summit of Europe’s tallest peak -OR- relax aboard the Tramway du Mont Blanc rack-railway taking in its vintage charm and the impressive views from the Eagle’s Nest, located 7,782 feet above sea level. This afternoon, enjoy a stroll through the woods in the bottom of the valley. (B)
Tuesday, August 6 – Chamonix – Gstaad, Switzerland
Bid Chamonix and France adieu and set out for Switzerland. Get to know the pups of Barryland, a local foundation that promotes and protects the heritage of the St. Bernard, the official dog of Switzerland. An afternoon train ride on the GoldenPass whisks you through the pastoral Swiss landscape en route to Gtsaad. Check in to your hotel before relaxing over a Swiss dinner. (B, D)
Wednesday, August 7 – Gstaad – Grindelwald
Travel through the alpine meadows of the Bernese Oberland, an area renowned for its cheese production. Visit an artisanal creamery producing raclette cheese and taste the local produce during brunch on the farm. Enjoy an alphorn workshop, where you will have a chance to immerse yourself in local tradition and customs while learning about alphorn production and usage. This afternoon, head on to Grindelwald, nestled at the base of legendary Mount Eiger. Settle in for a 2-night stay in this charming alpine village. (B, L)
Thursday, August 8 – Grindelwald – Jungfraujoch – Grindelwald
A short cogwheel train ride brings you to Jungfraujoch (UNESCO), known as the “Top of Europe.” Take your time to explore this eternal winter wonderland with impressive views of the imposing triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Wander the frosty halls of the Ice Palace to see works of icy art carved by local artists or stand next to the Swiss flag to capture your time above it all. Tonight is yours to spend in the picturesque village of Grindelwald. (B)
Friday, August 9 – Grindelwald – Lucerne – Seefeld, Austria
Before departing Switzerland, spend some time to learn for yourself why the lakeside city of Lucerne is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. We’ll make our way through Liechtenstein, the only country to lie entirely within the Alps, before crossing into Austria. This evening, join us for Shabbat services with our Amazing Journeys community, followed by a Shabbat dinner. (B, D)
Saturday, August 10 – Seefeld
This morning explore the idyllic town of Seefeld in a horse-drawn carriage, pausing to take in the unspoiled beauty of the Tyrolean Mountains and forests. Known for its cross-country skiing, this is the perfect setting for those for those who want to hike and explore the area on foot. For those who would prefer to discover this small yet spectacular town, the day is yours! This afternoon, opt for an optional easy/medium hike to explore the beautiful stunning surroundings with our local hiking guide. This evening is free to set out for dinner with others from the group, enjoying a Tyrolean meal. (B)
Sunday, August 11 – Seefeld – Innsbruck – Brunico, Italy
Take in the scenery of the spectacular Bavarian Alps en route to enchanting Innsbruck. Walk the charming streets, discover the historic old town, and take in landmarks such as the Golden Roof. Depart Austria for Italy to witness the unique jagged limestone peaks of the Dolomites. Arrive in Brunico, a historic town dating back to the 1200s, and your home for the next two nights. This evening we will partake in a Northern Italian dinner. (B, D)
Monday, August 12 – Brunico – Dolomites – Brunico
Journey into the Dolomites (UNESCO) mountain range and discover natural beauty and local traditions. During a walk in the Val Badia Valley, learn about the centuries-old Ladin culture. Stop at a nearby maso – an alpine farm – for a taste of local Landin fare. After lunch, a cable car ride brings you to Rifugio Lagazuoi for a feast of stunning views of the Dolomites. The evening is yours to explore Brunico as you wish. (B, L)
Tuesday, August 13 – Brunico – Cortina – Mogliano Veneto
Discover the charm of Cortina, a ski town encircled by the scenic backdrop of the sky-skimming Dolomite peaks. The rolling hills of Italy’s Prosecco region bring you to a local vineyard where you’ll taste the region’s sparkling specialty. This evening, explore the frescoed halls and grounds of our historic countryside villa before we gather for our Farewell Event and group dinner and toast amazing friends, wonderful memories and unforgettable scenery. Pre-Tour Stay: For those who want to arrive prior to the start of the tour, we have a limited number of rooms held at our group hotel. Please note – there will be no Amazing Journeys staff present nor will there be programming on these days. A deposit of $100 is required for each pre-night reserved. Rates listed are per day and include taxes and breakfast daily.

These rates are based on an all-inclusive, custom-designed package that differs from offerings seen in public advertising. We are unable to make any of our package components available to anyone who is not part of our Amazing Journeys group.

Cancellation Policy: From the time of deposit until January 4, 2023, there is a $100 penalty for cancellation. From January 5 – March 5, 2024, there is a $450 penalty for cancellation. From March 6 – May 2, 2024, the cancellation penalty is $650 for the tour, pre-nights and post package. From May 3 – June 30, 2024 the cancellation penalty is 50% of the cost of the tour, pre-nights and post package. From July 1, 2024 until the day of travel, the cancellation penalty is 100% of the cost of the tour, pre-nights and post package. Cancellations made on the day of departure and “no-shows” will receive no refund. There is no refund in the event of interruption or cancellation by the passenger after the start of the journey. Your decision not to participate on the tour due to State Department advisories, fear of travel, illness or any other reason will be deemed a cancellation.
Travel Protection: Amazing Journeys recommends you purchase travel protection. Information will be sent with your tour confirmation.
This trip is for you if: This trip is for you if you’re an on-the-go traveler – you don’t want to miss a thing, walking and standing for 2-3 hours isn’t a big deal and you’re able to walk at a moderate pace, covering several miles, hills, cobblestones and uneven surfaces. Walking four miles throughout the day is very doable and you can easily climb stairs. You can climb up and into various modes of transportation including trains, cable cars and horse-drawn carriages and can handle changes in elevation as high as 9,500 feet. You can expect several early mornings and some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This trip is not a fit for those who require assistance with walking or who travel on mobility devices.
Flights and Transfers: It is important that you not purchase airfare until you receive a confirmation letter from Amazing Journeys which will contain specific flight parameters. This tour begins in Geneva, Switzerland (GVA) and ends in Mogliano Veneto, Italy which is a suburb of Venice (VCE). Arrival and departure airport transfers not are included.
Twin Accommodations: Twin accommodations are available if you and a friend are traveling together. When signing up for twin occupancy, should one of the roommates cancel, the remaining traveling roommate will assume the cost of a single supplement. Standard cancellation terms apply to any cancellation.
Passports & Visas: A passport is necessary to travel on this itinerary. It must be valid for six months beyond the last day of the trip. If you are arriving from the US, Canada, Australia, UK, no visas are necessary at this time. Please note that visa requirements can change at any time and it is up to the traveler to be aware of visa requirements.
Fuel Surcharges: Should oil costs go above $65 a barrel and our tour operators adjust the rate of the tours cost accordingly, we reserve the right to adjust the cost of the tour.
Exchange Rate: In the case of currency fluctuations of greater than 3%, we reserve the right to adjust our pricing accordingly in order that we may be able to operate the tours effectively.
Taxes & Gratuities: Taxes, surcharges, and government fees are subject to change. Gratuities have been included on this tour and include tips for the tour manager, local guides, drivers, luggage porters and included meals. Gratuities are not included for housekeeping staff in the hotels and we leave that to your discretion.
Vaccines & Precautions: At this time there are no specific vaccinations required for international travelers. We recommend you visit a travel clinic or see your health professional to be sure you are up to date on vaccinations needed for international travel. Requirements can change at any time. It is recommended you bring along an official government issued Covid-19 proof of vaccination card as countries and venues along the way may still require it and there is a possibility you may be denied entry without.
This tour is operated by Collette. This group is limited to no more than 23 guests where a smaller group provides a more personal travel experience. We must have a minimum of 15 participants in order to operate the main tour. The Venice package requires a minimum of 4 guests in order to operate and is not escorted by Amazing Journeys.
