Today we explore Bangkok’s rich heritage with a trip to the monumental Grand Palace, the former royal residence and the city’s number-one destination. Walk through the Coronation Hall and reach the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Visually and architecturally impressive, the temple complex is the spiritual heart of Thai Buddhism and the Monarchy. Continue to visit the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall. We end our day with a stop at a local Gems Gallery. Tonight we gather together with our Amazing Journeys community for a Shabbat Service. (B, L)

We first arrive in Bang Pa In where we’ll visit the exquisite Summer Palace of King Rama V with its mixture of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architectures. We continue our drive to Ayutthaya. Once known as the “Pearl of the East,” Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand from A.D. 1350 until its destruction four centuries later by Burmese invaders. We wander through the lingering ruins of monasteries and temples, which offer a glimpse into the past splendor of the dynasties. Next we transfer to the pier for the Grand Pearl Cruise and enjoy the fascinating scenery along the Chaophaya River, the River of the King. (B, L)
Day 5 – Sunday, March 2
Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak – Huahin Experience the local culture of this “City of Angels” with a trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Huahin Today’s tour features visits to Huahin Train Station and the Palace of Love & Hope (Marukhathaiyawan Palace), built in 1923 with golden teak wood and used as a summer palace for King Rama VI of Thailand. The floor of the entire building was made of the precious red teak wood. Visitors are required to go barefoot through the entire building. In the afternoon, we return to our beachfront hotel where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy the Gulf of Thailand, relax at the beachfront pool or indulge your senses at the spa. (B, L)
